EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO PROJECTS

One of the goals of Instigator Films is to push the boundaries of experimental film and video using the latest technologies to create compelling audiovisual experiences. Filmmaker Brian Lally works on experimental video art projects and has been funded by the Arts Council of Ireland for this work.

A moment from the experimental film "Aftermath

Instigator Films produced the award-winning short film "Aftermath". This is an experimental film shot in the style of a silent film and set to the music of Irish composer Roger Doyle. The story centres on a disturbed young woman who recounts a series of surreal and visually striking dreams which culminate in a nightmarish reality.

This has screened in many festivals including the Boston Underground Film Festival (2006) and the Britspotting Festival in Berlin, Stuttgart and Zurich (2006). It was also selected for the Arizona International Film Festival in 2010. In 2011, it was screened at the Ballinamore Film Festival in Leitrim and won the award for best experimental film. It will next screen at the Clones Film Festival. Watch "Aftermath" here.
